One of the most important ways circus organizations can make new connections is by creating an online presence that excites and motivates your readers. When your audience is able to easily and quickly find you by way of a simple keyword search, your website should offer compelling and engaging information that will make your visitor want to linger. The longer they linger, the stronger emotional connection becomes and your chance of securing a new student or member is greatly enhanced.
There are a number of ways that you can design your website or social media pages to boost interest. By clearly stating your mission front and center, and by building a site that is engaging yet sophisticated in appearance, you will create that most important positive first impression. Once you have captured your audience's attention, the next step is to make a new friend (this is why it is called "social" media) and encourage them to visit more often.
Update your website
A stagnant site will not only be a waste of money, but it can also serve to drive people away when they sense that you aren't engaged enough with your viewers. They may believe that this attitude could apply to your commitment to your organization as well. If you update your site once or twice a week, at minimum, you will retain subscribers and make the search engines take notice too. Events, contests and new content will bring your visitors back again and again.
Build Your Subscriber List
Make sure you have a quick and easy email sign-up form on each page of your site. This is a great way to inform potential clients (as well as your current clients) about what you’re up to. Don't ask for more than a couple of pieces of information because readers are often leery about providing too much personal info online. Name and email address will be all that you need to be able to send out newsletters or other email communications. Try to find the language that make your readers "click-through" and find your online presence. Remember, if you overwhelm your readers with email, they will probably unsubscribe.
Make Registering and Purchasing Safe And Easy
Weather you want your audience to sign up for classes, purchase your merchandise or make a donation, make the process as simple as possible. A straightforward interface with 2 or 3 steps means less chance that they will change their minds in the middle of completing a registration, donation or purchase. Also make sure that once the process is complete, you present a way for your client to share the fact with their own social media circles. This is a great way to bring new people to your organization.
Your online presence is a great opportunity for you to engage with your current clients as well as enticing the viewer who just happens upon your site, or who has been referred by a friend, coworker or family member. Take this chance to really show your organization in a positive way and to show your audience the value (and fun!) in joining your circus organization.
