SERVICE FEE: Hillsborough Recreation will now implement a service fee of $1 and 4% of each transaction for all summer programs.
We will utilize the North & West Campuses for The HIve Summer Day Camp. We will try to accommodate all requests for sites but may assign your second choice campus to accommodate campers.
ELIGIBILITY / AVAILABILITY:
Children age 5 (by first day of their attendance) - through 12 years old are eligible for The Hive Day Camp.
We will open registration with 96 spots available. We will have an open waitlist, and if demand dictates we will try our best to accommodate all who need care at our camp this summer.

Full safety protocols will be announced June 17th in a pre-camp letter.
HOW WILL IT WORK?
Hillsborough Recreation’s Hive Day Camp will run a safe, fun and dynamic traditional day camp adapted to adhere to the current social distancing and Health Officer’s order. As of now each child will be given their own equipment and supplies that they will take home at the end of their session.
This camper kit will include but may not be limited to:
Personal sanitation supplies
Consistent groups of 12 will be led through daily schedules of modified sports, games and crafts. Groups will not intermix with each other, nor will they share any instructors. However, we will use the classroom SMART BOARDS & video conferencing to keep all groups connected to each other without physically mixing. Arts and Crafts and daily assemblies will be part of our online connected content.
Creative weekly themes will make it feel like a unique experience each and every week! Dress up days, spirit races and much more will keep the traditional camp feeling in place.
As new orders come out we have designed our program to be adaptable and we will remain flexible as new orders and protocols are put into place.
Groups will be made up of the same 12 campers for the entirety of the session. In order to decrease the amount of household mingling we will place siblings in the same group. This means that each group will be mixed in ages.
Where appropriate groups will be made by age, school, and geographic location to further minimize mingling.
To avoid additional exposure, campers cannot attend any other programs (including sports teams practices) while enrolled in one of our sessions.
Each group will have 2 group leaders throughout the day. These group leaders will be static throughout the camp session and remain with the same group.
REFUND / CANCELLATION POLICY:
Refunds and cancellations will be honored through June 5th. Once your child has reserved one of the 12 seats in a group it cannot be canceled, resold, or filled as this would not fit the health order of 12 stable members of a group.
Full camp details will be sent out June 17th in a “Welcome to Camp” Letter. Drop off / pickup protocols, Health and Safety Check protocols, and common “What If’s?” will be answered in this letter.
