Introduction to Linocut Printmaking

Description:

This workshop introduces participants to the basics of relief printmaking using linoleum. Participants will compose images, transfer and cut the images on linoleum blocks, and produce prints using a printing press. The workshop offers an in-depth look at the materials and techniques used to make fine art linocut prints. Please bring ideas and visual references as source material you’re interested in working with. Images should ideally be simple, bold designs, not too detailed or too small.

Bring clothes for getting messy in, and visual references for designing your carving.
