Description:
Borrowing from the teachings of Loomis, Ryder, Bridgman, and the other masterclass teachers, art students develop skills in representational drawing and painting the portrait. Students work from photo references and live models and with drawing tools as well as paint. Modeling the portrait is a staged process that builds the necessary foundation and structure of the large to small masses and tonal planes of the head to achieve the likeness of the sitter. This course is open to aspiring artists of all levels. Students are encouraged to work in oils but may opt for acrylics or watercolours.
This activity allows for drop-ins. Pick your choice in the calendar to register.
