An introduction to the practices of free running or “parkour”. Originally a French-derived acrobatic movement style over urban landscapes, this popular form of athleticism has spread globally captivating the interest of youth. Parkour is an innovative approach to movement and acrobatics using pre-existing structures such as walls, benches, or poles. It challenges students to move in dynamic, non-linear ways. Emphasis will be given primarily on safety and learning to execute moves within the student’s abilities while progressively training more complex acrobatics. Open to youth ages 9 through 14.
