Seed Bead Treasure Gems

Learn 2 classic seed bead stitches to help launch countless jewelry treasures (e.g., earrings, bracelets, necklaces and more).   In this workshop, you’ll receive a bead starter kit to include:  practice beads, bead mat, needle, thread, beeswax, bead sorter.  You’ll also receive earring and necklace findings to create your own unique seed bead design.

About Lani Fukuzawa:

As a beader for several years, Lani remains constantly amazed at the infinite varieties of beads—their colors, sizes, shapes and textures. Lani’s beaded works have been featured in juried art shows and craft fairs throughout the greater Portland region.  But, she finds great satisfaction in creating one-of-a-kind bead works as labor of love gifts for friends and family.

Lani describes herself as a “restless creative spirit” seeking ways to integrate her passion for beading with other creative paths such as fiber and paper arts, and ephemera collage structures.  The possibilities are endless!

Most importantly, beading along with other creative pursuits remind Lani to value a meditative approach to life—-to ‘slow down’…while breathing in and out…  With this, the process of beading allows her to take one bead at a time.

Required age: 16+ on the day of the activity

Notes: All materials provided by Instructor. You will leave with a full starter kit for future beading! Masks are optional as of March 12th. Please note: There is a max of 8 students per class to ensure proper social distancing in the space and to minimize shared materials. There is a minimum of 3 students for this class to run. Please join the waitlist if the spots are full.

Prerequisites: All levels welcome- Instructor will provide bead starter kit supplies for each student.
