Description:

In this class we will learn about what makes a painting work. Our aim will be to develop understandings of tone, value, and texture and how they work together to create interesting and dynamic compositions. We will learn through experimentation with mixed media materials and abstraction, working to build a loyalty to our composition above referential objects. In this class you will receive personalized and uniquely suited consulting on your artistic aesthetic and interests and have the opportunity to explore many mediums, materials, and techniques ranging from encaustic to yupo paper, ink to plaster.

Materials will be provided by the instructor, but students are still invited to bring their own supplies from home if they wish. The Chehalem Cultural Center asks that each student bring $10 to cover the materials purchased by the instructor.

Available: 10/10
