Help your team qualify for the State Team Tournament!  The top 4 teams from each section will qualify for State Team in March.

Where: Bullitt East High School

When: February 22, 2020

           8:00 AM    Round 1 begins at 9:00 AM
           On site entries will receive a ½ point BYE for round 1
           This means that you must register in advance if you want to play the first round!
           We expect most players will be finished before 3:30 – 4:00 PM

This event is a regional Team Qualifier for the Kentucky State Team Championship.  The event is paired as a Team Modified Swiss.  As a championship event, tournament directors will NOT be allowed to intervene in games other than as prescribed by USChess Official Rules of Chess.

Sections and time controls:

K-1, K-3, K-5, K-8, K-12: 5 rounds maximum, G/30;d5

NOTE: You must play in your team's section!

Sections may be combined if necessary.  Players still compete for prizes in their grade only, even in a combined section.  We may lower the number of rounds in a section.  We may increase the time control in the K-12 section.

Entry Fee: $25 per player online        $35 onsite
Online registration closes 2/21/2020 at 11:59 pm.

Help your school’s chess team qualify for the State Championship event!
The top 4 teams in K3, K5, K8, and K12 will receive invitations to the State Team Championship on March 7, 2020.  Teams who place 5th-10th will be used as alternates should qualified team cancel or decline their invitations.  K1 teams automatically qualify for the State Team Championship if they play in their respective Quad Tournament.

Price: $25.00 Taxes waived

Required age: 4 - 19 on the day of the activity
