Description:

Students will learn several different techniques for carving and forming wax using saws, files and drills to create wax models which will be cast using the 'lost wax' method. Casting will be done off premises and will be returned for finishing. Students will also learn how to finish their castings from cutting off sprues to the final sanding and polishing, creating a finished piece of jewelry. New students will begin with a structured project. Returning students are welcomed to continue working on individual projects.

Required age: 18+ on the day of the activity

Notes: $10.00 supply fee for wax will be paid to the instructor at beginning of first class. Wax tools can be purchased before class begins. List for metal tools will be supplied the first day of class. Cost of metal tools is approximately $100.00.
