Description:

All well-designed and thought out art begins with a solid foundation of drawing skills and concepts. In this course we will work from 3D still life set ups and learn how to translate what we are seeing onto a 2D drawing surface. This course will cover the basic concepts of value, line contour, perspective, proportions, negative and positive space, a balanced design, etc. Instructor will begin each class with a demonstration of the concept covered for that particular day. Individual lighting and simple still life objects (beginning with geometric shape forms) will be used at the beginning of this session and will segue into more complicated and sophisticated compositional still-life after students demonstrate an understanding of demonstrated concepts by instructor.
