Description:
Early childhood music and movement class appropriate for ages 18 months to 3 years old with a participating caregiver. Each class offers a creative environment to learn through song, instrument and movement. Instructed by Tara Pell, MA, MT-BC, an experienced board-certified music therapist, published researcher, and presenter with a special interest in early childhood music. Her undergraduate work was completed in music therapy at Baldwin Wallace University, and she earned her Master of Arts degree in music therapy from Saint Mary of the Woods College. She began her professional career providing developmental music for preschoolers and serving children with special needs at the Beck Center for the Arts. Since then, she has served diverse populations in a wide range of settings including community arts, gerontology, adult day programs, and adult oncology/medical. Her most recent work with young children was as music therapist to underserved three- to five-year olds through the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's Toddler Rock program. She currently has a small, independent piano studio and serves as adjunct faculty staff member at Cleveland State University. After working in the field of music therapy for over two decades, Tara has settled into being home in Cuyahoga Falls with her two young children where she has learned the most about child development and the joys of music-making.
