Description du Laboratoire :

Explorant les liens entre le son et la matière, inerte ou vivante, Martin Messier crée des œuvres qui s’incarnent dans des dispositifs performatifs complexes, électromécaniques et numériques. Il invite ici les participant.e.s à un laboratoire de création autour de sa prochaine création de groupe dans la lignée de sa démarche. L’exploration proposée sera axée sur un travail de consignes chorégraphiques données en direct via un système technologique de “in ears”. Le laboratoire mettra les participant.e.s en contact avec cette méthode qui a notamment été au cœur de la création de Innervision, une œuvre pour 60 danseur.euse.s présentée en extérieur durant le Festival TransAmériques 2019.

L’exploration proposera une plongée directe dans ce travail mêlant mouvements et technologie et jouant avec les notions de contrôle et de liberté, de groupe et d’individus : comment maintenir une certaine liberté comme groupe et comme interprète tout en étant soumis à la technologie et à des consignes que l’on doit suivre ?

Laboratory Description:

Exploring the links between sound and matter, inert or alive; Martin Messier creates works that are embodied in complex performative, electromechanical and digital devices. Here he invites participants to a creative laboratory around his next group creation in line with his approach. The proposed exploration will focus on a work of choreographic instructions given live via a technological system of "in ears". The laboratory will put the participants in contact with this method, which was at the heart of the creation of Innervision, a work for 60 dancers presented outdoors during the Festival TransAmériques 2019.

 

The exploration will propose a direct immersion in this work mixing movement and technology while playing with the notions of control and freedom - of groups and individuals. How to maintain a certain freedom, as a group and as a performer, while being subjected to technology and instructions that one must follow?
