Art Exploration of the Ancient Mayans - CANCELLED

Description:

We will take a creative journey to Mexico and Central America to explore Mayan ruins and uncover ancient glyphs carved into stone.  Art students will learn about and create Mayan structures, explore weaving techniques, and learn how to write in the Mayan language.  The Taft Arts Studio welcomes artistic explorers in grades 6, 7, and 8 to join this awesome artistic voyage!

Notes: Students will participate in the Arts Alive! Showcase on Saturday, May 16th at Harding Middle School. Art work will be displayed during the event, beginning at 9:00am, Please plan to attend with your student. Performance and presentation is an important part of the artistic process. The event is FREE! Look for information from your instructor as the date approaches.
