Sun Print Workshop Grades 6-12

Make art using the power of the sun!!

Join artist Lauren Manninen and learn how to make sun prints by harnessing the rays of the sun with endless creative possibilities! Each student will receive a free kit and plexiglas board. Students must be members of the MAS to enroll. (give us a call for more information!) 

Sun prints are created using the cyanotype process, which has been used by artists since its development in the 19th century. Objects that eclipse the sun’s light will show up in white, with the rest of the paper turning a vibrant Prussian Blue. Gradients between these two ends are easy to achieve and we will cover that in class.

All supplies will be provided free of charge thanks to a grant from Variety - The Children's Charity! After you enroll, and receive your Zoom meeting room number, you may pick up your class supplies at the Music and Arts Studios. Members may also use their free member art box for more creative ideas.

Students, please follow the EIAA Zoom Room rules as follows:
1. Keep your camera on so the teacher can help assist you and see how you are doing with a project.
2. Refrain from eating and drinking while in class.
3. Microphone should be off for the most part, especially if your house is a loud environment,, unless you want to chat with others, including the teacher.
4. Be positive when seeing what others are creating and be sure and compliment the artwork of classmates.
