Students who are enrolled in a session class may use this calendar to manage their class attendance for missed classes and make-up classes, per studio policy.
Additionally, Esh students may purchase drop-ins for classes or sign up for practice time using this calendar.
PLEAD READ THE FOLLOWING POLICIES BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR A DROP-IN CLASS OR PRACTICE TIME:
About Drop-in Classes:
Level 101 classes are open to new students for drop-ins during the first two weeks of the session only, from March 22 - April 4. After this time, only students with prior experience and instructor approval may drop in on Level 101 classes.
All other classes require explicit approval for drop-ins. Esh students are approved to drop in on classes at or below their current class level in each discipline in which they have recently taken classes (or whatever level they were at before the shutdown). Those who are new to Esh but not new to circus arts may drop in on an All Levels class, or must contact us to arrange a skill evaluation before attending a leveled class. If a student purchases a drop-in for a class that they are not approved to take and the instructor determines that they cannot safely participate in class, the student will not be allowed to participate and no refund will be granted.
About Practice Time:
Esh students may sign up for Practice Time to come in and practice their skills! During practice time, each student has a dedicated aerial point, Cyr floor, or Wire/Pipe area to themselves for the hour. For aerial students, a member of our admin team will be in touch shortly after registration to find out what apparatus you would like to use during your training time. Options for aeriials are: silks, sling, rope, hoop, trapeze (static or single point), and straps. Cyr students may use an Esh wheel or bring their own. Wheels will be cleaned before and after use. If you would like to train any other skill (tumbling, handbalancing, etc), you may sign up for any open Practice Time slot.
You may also sign up for this time if you have your own aerial apparatus. If you are bringing your own apparatus, you must be able to tell us the manufacturer, show proff of the working load limit and breaking strength or load rating safety factor, and the apparatus must pass a visual inspection before being rigged.
General policies:
As part of our COVID response plan, Esh has enacted several policy and procedure changes to help us keep our staff, students, and community safer. Policies relevant to drop-in classes and practice time are listed here; please read them thoroughly and reach out to us at info@eshcircusarts.com with any questions before signing up.
We also encourage you to read our full COVID Response Plan here: https://www.eshcircusarts.com/covid-response-plan/
- Mask policy
- Everyone must wear a mask or face covering at all times in the studio. In accordance with the most recent guidance from the CDC on mask-wearing, students ages 16+ must wear a three-layer mask or double-mask while in the studio. Students ages 15 and under must wear at least a double-layer cloth mask.
- Masks must have a good fit. A good fit means that there is no gapping of the mask from your face where your nose meets your cheek, and the mask is held snug against the sides of your face and under your chin. Both your mouth and nose should be covered at all times while in the studio (unless drinking water as needed, away from other students).
- Students ages 16+ must wear one of the following:
- Three-layer cloth mask (triple layer of fabric)
- Mask that has a double layer of cloth and a nanofilter layer such as a HALOmask or Happy Mask.
- An N95, KF94, or KN95 mask.
- Two Mask Solution: Wear a surgical mask under a double-layered cloth mask.
- Esh has surgical masks available at the front desk for students who need a second mask to wear under the standard double-layered cloth masks we previously required. We are asking for a $1 donation if you use a surgical mask from our collection. You can then save the mask for use at your next class as long as you store it safely between classes!
- Note: Why not only a 3-ply surgical mask? Because they usually don't have a good enough fit.
- What to bring
- Aerial students may bring a personal baggie of chalk or rosin to the studio. Esh will also have rosin socks and chalk that students may borrow to use during class; like our other equipment, rosin and chalk will be quarantined after each use.
- Students should bring a full water bottle. Per state order, the drinking feature of the water fountain is closed. The water bottle refill feature is available for use.
- Students may bring a yoga mat for use during warm-up if they would like.
- Procedures to maintain physical distancing
- Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before the start of your class time or training time. Upon arrival, students should store their belongings in the lobby and then enter the main studio, rather than waiting in the lobby for class to begin.
- Student and coaches must maintain a minimum distance of six feet at all times.
- No physical cuing or spotting is permitted during lessons, except in emergency situations. Lesson content will be chosen to minimize the likelihood that emergency spotting will be required.
- In order to maintain space between students, aerial students will be spaced throughout the studio so that no one is using adjacent aerial points.
- Students will remain in one place during warm-up rather than walking, running, or otherwise moving throughout the studio.
- Cancellation Policy:
- If a student needs to cancel a drop-in class reservation or point/space rental, they will receive an account credit if they contact Esh at least 24 hours in advance via email to info@eshcircusarts.com. No refunds will be issued. Students enrolled in session classes should manage their class reservations per studio policy.
- With less that 24 hours notice, no refunds or credits will be granted.
- This cancellation policy is firm and no exceptions will be granted. Our goal in creating these policies is to balance the need to protect very limited income streams for our staff and studio with our students' need for flexibility in their schedules. If you have questions about these policies, please reach out to us at info@eshcircusarts.com.
