Students who are enrolled in a session class may use this calendar to manage their class attendance for missed classes and make-up classes, per studio policy.
Additionally, Esh students may purchase drop-ins for classes or sign up for open studio and practice time using this calendar.
About Drop-in Classes:
Level 101 classes are open to new students for drop-ins during the first two weeks of the session only, from August 23rd - September 5th. After this time, only students with prior experience may drop in on Level 101 classes.
All other classes require explicit approval for drop-ins. Esh students are approved to drop in on classes at or below their current class level in each discipline in which they have recently taken classes. Those who are new to Esh but not new to circus arts must contact us to arrange a skill evaluation before attending a leveled class. If a student purchases a drop-in for a class that they are not approved to take and the instructor determines that they cannot safely participate in class, the student will not be allowed to participate and no refund will be granted.
About Practice Time and Open Studio:
Esh students may sign up for Practice Time and Open Studio to come in and practice their skills! (This is self-directed time to practice what you've learned in class; Practice Time and Open Studio are not appropriate for students without circus experience.)
During practice time, each student has a dedicated aerial point, Cyr floor, or Wire/Pipe area to themselves for the hour. For aerial students, a member of our admin team will be in touch before your scheduled practice time to find out what apparatus you would like to use during your training. Options for aerials are: silks, sling, rope, hoop, trapeze (static or single point), and straps. Cyr students may use an Esh wheel or bring their own. If you would like to train any other skill (tumbling, handbalancing, etc), you may sign up for any open Practice Time slot.
You may also sign up for Practice Time if you have your own aerial apparatus. If you are bringing your own apparatus, you must be able to tell us the manufacturer, show proof of the working load limit and breaking strength or load rating safety factor, and the apparatus must pass a visual inspection before being rigged.
Open Studio is open to Esh students (both current and returning) ages 16+. Pre-registration is required and attendance is capped at 25 people. Students should expect to share equipment during Open Studio. We will have plenty of apparatuses up, though, so you'll be able to get in lots of air time (or floor time, if you're coming for acro, tumbling, wire, etc). Cyr folks, we can roll up some floor space for you too if needed! If you would like to bring your own aerial apparatus to be rigged during Open Studio, please be prepared to share it. If you do not want to share your apparatus, plan to leave it at home and use Esh equipment.
