Welcome to the Orange Heart Club, where we offer a wide range of engaging and culturally rich programs for children aged 6-12, focused on Indigenous cultures, traditions, and reconciliation. Designed by experts in Indigenous education and staffed by a team of Indigenous and allied educators, youth workers, social workers, and students, our mission is to create a fun, inclusive, and safe environment for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth to learn about Indigenous experiences and perspectives of colonialism through play, stories, and interactive experiences.
The Orange Heart is a symbol of truth and reconciliation, through which the next Seven Generations of Canadians can enter into more meaningful, honest, and inclusive relationships with Indigenous Peoples and lands.
Our diverse programs include:
After-School Programs: Our after-school programs provide children with the opportunity to explore Indigenous perspectives through storytelling, games, and hands-on cultural activities. By participating in these unique sessions, children develop a deeper understanding of reconciliation and the importance of fostering positive relationships with Indigenous communities.
March Break and PA Day Camps: Our special March Break and PA Day camps offer children an immersive experience to learn about Indigenous history, art, and traditions. Through interactive workshops, children will be inspired by Indigenous knowledge and gain an appreciation for the diverse cultures and contributions of Indigenous peoples.
Summer Day Camps: At our Summer Day Camps, children embark on an unforgettable journey into the world of Indigenous cultures, participating in a variety of activities centered on storytelling, traditional arts and crafts, and reconciliation. Our camps promote personal growth, cultural understanding, and lasting friendships in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Each Orange Heart Club program is designed to spark curiosity and foster empathy while empowering children to become champions of reconciliation in their communities. By participating in our programs, families also gain access to an exclusive parent newsletter, which helps continue the conversation about reconciliation at home.
Join us at the Orange Heart Club and provide your child with a one-of-a-kind experience that promotes respect, understanding, and appreciation for Indigenous cultures and the importance of reconciliation. Register today and embark on a transformative journey toward building a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
If you are an Indigenous family and finances are a barrier to your child(ren)'s participation in the program, please reach out to us at findingourpowertogether@gmail.com to explore financial support options!
