Description:

Making and eating ice cream is a fun way to introduce early chemistry teachings to children and helps build self-esteem.  Kids can become experts in this billion-dollar industry as they make a batch of homemade ice cream.  Did you know ice cream began with the concept of the Icee?  We will sample some!  We will also explore the science, history, and franchise history of the beloved amusement park treat Dippin’ Dots.  Did you know the founder is from Illinois?  Sometimes entrepreneurship happens by accident!  The waffle cone and the first novelty ice cream bar, the Eskimo Pie have a great story behind them, and we will discuss them.  Then kids sit down for the most outrageous ice cream eating contest in town.  This is optional, but so much fun!  Did anyone say BRAIN FREEZE?  This is a child’s dream class and all about putting the fun back into learning.  Don’t wear your Sunday best, we will get sticky!  Highly motivating souvenirs are included to keep the kids poppin’ throughout the class and working towards their personal best.  Lots of samplings, socialization, contest, and good old-fashioned fun over the summer.  This is a drop-off program.
