Lotus Centre is a registered Canadian charity (824271480RR0001) which was founded to meet a community need for specialized music education. We believe that every child has a right to appropriate education in any endeavour they choose to pursue. This means working with a teacher who understands the nature of the student's needs and constantly strives to meet them, while creating a nurturing and fun environment. We also believe that music education can provide a means of communication, can improve function and performance in non-musical areas, and can provide an emotional outlet for all people. This is especially valuable for students with special challenges. We work with students of all ages with exceptionalities. We are dedicated to providing the best possible music education for students of all abilities and across many diagnoses. Any student that would benefit from individually designed alternative music education is welcome. Lotus Centre is unique in offering music lessons by teachers who specialize in working with students with special needs. We are passionate about creating the best learning environment for each student and adapting as required. Our goal is to work within each student's abilities to develop their confidence and allow them to feel safe in the learning environment. Through our ADAPT model, we develop individualized, strengths-based curriculum to allow each student’s full potential to be realized.
