Description:
Through the centuries still lives (nature-morte in French) have been part of an artist’s vocabulary. Still lives can give us a particular focus for our art. Join Antonia to explore painting and drawing still life compositions - including fruit, flowers and everyday objects. This course will touch on the concept of ‘momento mori’ often found in still lives, a reminder of the inevitability of decay. Learn and explore shading, lighting and drawing from observation. All levels welcome. Antonia Weetman is an alumna of the Diploma programme at the Ottawa School of Art and has an Masters Degree in Art History.
