Description:

This session will give an overview into the mental health and addiction issues that affect the Jewish community, and offer some insight into culturally appropriate treatment modalities. Let’s talk Freud, King David’s depression, whether or not we are an especially neurotic people, and how to manage that pesky inter-generational trauma. 

About Michelle:

Michelle Anbar-Goldstein is a social worker, advocate and educator who works at CAMH providing support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and major mental diagnoses within the Forensic Mental Health system. Michelle is also a faculty member for the Developmental Servicers Worker program at Humber College, and an instructor for LivingWorks's Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. In addition to mental health, Michelle is passionate about sexual health education, particularly with people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Prior to working in mental health, Michelle spent 12 years working in the Developmental Services Sector within the Jewish Community, in a variety of front-line, management, and clinical roles.
