Design, create, and make your very own city come alive using Minecraft! In this camp, kids will explore a variety of themes centered around scientific, sustainable, innovative, and futuristic city planning and design.

Kids will immerse themselves in Minecraft while applying the Engineering for Kids design process to create a model of their very own, futuristic, sustainable city. On the last day of camp, students will learn how to pitch their ideas and launch their designs to a larger audience to participate in an EFK global design competition!

With both Apprentice (Ages 7-10) and Master (Ages 10-14) level camps, Urban Innovations in Minecraft can provide a fun and challenging experience for players of all skill levels.

Parent Information:

Each week of camp covers separate themes. Your child is welcome to attend as many as of these weeks as they wish.

Required Materials:

• Computer meeting or exceeding the specifications outlined in “Technical Requirements”
• Stable, high speed internet connection
• An updated copy of “Minecraft: Java Edition” (Release 1.17 or newer). Other versions, such as “Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition” will not be usable for camps, as multiplayer content is not possible between the separate versions. To ensure you purchase the correct version, view “First-Time Minecraft Installation” below. (An additional cost of $35.00 is required to purchase the game. This is a one-time purchase, and after purchase you will keep the copy of the game indefinitely)
• Microphone and webcam (integrated or external)

If you are unsure of whether or not your computer is powerful enough to run Minecraft, it is highly suggested that you try the demo before purchase.

A computer with the minimum requirements should be able to play Minecraft: Java Edition. However, for the best experience, please consider the recommended requirements.
