Things you should know

Parts and Crafts is a workshop-based program. Commonly used tools include: wirestrippers, soldering irons, hot glue guns, screwdrivers, power drills, and hand saws. We have a shop full of wood tools that we use pretty much every day and the space is typically filled with kids taking things apart, gluing, soldering, screwing pieces of wood together, and lining up at the shop to have things drilled and cut. Parents should know these things going in!

Our workshops are choice-based and opt in. Many kids opt to work on the project of the day. Others just want to hang out and play! Your kid may well spend their time fighting with boffer swords, building marshmallow launchers and playing giant games of capture the flag in the park. We believe very strongly in the value of active play. We also spend a lot of our time playing Risk, Magic: the Gathering, Dominion, and we like and respect all these games.

Release and Waiver of Liability

I understand and certify that my child’s participation in Parts and Crafts programming is completely voluntary. I understand that certain hazards and dangers are inherent in the program, and I acknowledge that although Parts and Crafts has taken measures to minimize the risk of injury to camp participants, Parts and Crafts cannot guarantee that the activities will be free of accidents or injuries.

In the event that I cannot be reached in an EMERGENCY, I hereby give permission to the attending physician secured by Parts and Crafts, to secure proper treatment for, and to order injections, anesthesia, or surgery for my child. I additionally give consent and permission for Parts and Crafts staff, volunteers, representatives, or contractors to seek the aid of emergency medical services as deemed appropriate and to to render whatever treatment they consider necessary for my child’s health.

I verify that my child is physically fit and sufficiently qualified to participate in Parts and Crafts programming. I have instructed my child in the importance of abiding by the program's rules and procedures for the safety of program participants. I hereby agree to release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Parts and Crafts, their officers, agents, or employees from liability arising from loss, damage, or injury that may be sustained to me or my child while participating in program activities.

By agreeing to this form I acknowledge that I have read and understood the terms of this release agreement and freely agree to its terms.
