Description:

Baseball 1 introduces baseball to children aged two years with parents or caregivers on the field to play along. During the weekly sessions, our experienced coaches introduce base running, overhand throwing, holding the bat correctly and fielding ground balls. Drills and games are specially designed to teach the basics while keeping the classes fun and full of energy. This popular program lays a solid technical foundation and provides parents with an opportunity to spend time with their children while passing along a love of the game. Parent/caregiver participation is required. 

Jersey and cap is included and will be distributed at the field prior to first class. Program uses City of Hamilton maintained grass soccer fields. There are no washroom facilities.

Baseball players should bring water bottles, parents should wear athletic footwear and bring camp chairs.

Class size is limited and programs will be modified to follow all applicable COVID guidelines. The same parent/caregiver is encouraged to attend all sessions.

Required age: 2 - 2 on the day of the activity

Notes: Baseball operates rain or shine (program will be cancelled if City closes fields or if thunder & lightning develops during session). Program will be modified to adhere to COVID guidelines in place at time of program delivery.

Prerequisites: Active children with an adult caregiver close at hand to assist as required.
