Description:
Grand Slam introduces develops players aged eight and nine and advances their prior baseball knowledge and skills. Using a modified game, the weekly 90min sessions teach the basic skills to ensure success. Our experienced coaches teach baseball following Baseball Canada LTPD development guidelines. Players enrolled in the Grand Slam program have an additional opportunity to play in a competitive setting. Those players electing to join one of the Binbrook 9U teams will play in the HDBA interlock against other Hamilton Baseball Associations as well as other Binbrook 9U teams. Home games will take place at both Woodburn Ball Park and Binbrook Fairgrounds. Road games will be played at the other association's home park (All within Hamilton). Game nights and times will be set by the HDBA schedule, no Friday or weekend games (other than rainouts). Players will play a more traditional baseball format with a coach operated pitching machine. Registration includes two HDBA tournaments, The Mid-Summer Classic and The City Championship. Grand Slam is a Binbrook Minor Baseball Association program and delivered by Soccer World | Batter Zone coaches. Program runs at Woodburn Ball Park which is a City of Hamilton facility and has washrooms and parking onsite. Grand Slam practices are 90min. Summer schedule will include a combination of 5pm and 6:30pm times on Mondays and Tuesdays. Jersey is included and will be distributed at the park on the first day. Baseball players should bring water bottles, baseball glove & batting helmet (with chin strap). Team size is limited and programs will be modified to follow all applicable COVID guidelines. The same parent/caregiver is encouraged to attend all sessions.

Notes: Baseball operates rain or shine (program will be cancelled if City closes diamonds or if thunder & lightning develops during session). Program will be modified to adhere to COVID guidelines in place at time of program delivery.
