Description:
Girls Hockey is an opportunity for girls who come late to the game to learn and play hockey. The weekly program includes power skating, game skills and scrimmages. Every session will include scrimmage and game play while also working on improving acceleration, balance and agility. Hockey drills will include work on shot technique, passing and receiving as well as puck control. As the session progresses the scrimmage time will be extended. The goal of the program is to make playing hockey fun and prepare players to confidently enter and excel in their local community hockey leagues. Players in this program are expected to be comfortable on skates. Players should wear a CSA approved helmet with cage, shoulder pads, shin guards, gloves and bring their stick.
