The Brookline Recreation Therapy Division provides evidence based recreation opportunities for individuals with disabilities, injuries, or illnesses, aged youth to adult. Serving the Greater Boston area, some programs provide specialized instruction, while others are inclusive for people of all abilities. The Brookline Recreation Therapy Division is also home to Brookline Special Olympics, one of the largest Special Olympics Chapters in Massachusetts. The Recreation Therapy Division is managed by our Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Melanie Pimentel, and is supported by dedicated part time staff and volunteers. For more information about the Brookline Recreation Therapy Division, contact Melanie at mpimentel@brooklinema.gov or by calling (617) 879-4794.
Step back in time and join the Recreational Therapy Division in our journey through the decades at our Sensory-Friendly Decades Dance! We're bringing the magic of the 70's, 80's, 90's, and 2000's to life in a way that everyone can enjoy!
Dressing up is optional and comfort is key! Whether it's your comfy casual attire or your favorite decade-inspired outfit, we invite you to join us in what will make you happiest.
Refreshments will be provided and low-stimulation activities will be availble for anyone who wishes to participate.
