Description:

VanDusen Garden education staff will introduce the basics of conifer identification, featuring iconic coastal BC native trees and the role they play in the local ecosystem. Learn key characteristics of the most common conifer & deciduous tree families, and handy tips and tricks to recognize species seen around Vancouver in both urban and wild areas, including the neighbourhood around your school. Enjoy a guided walk through the Garden to ‘meet’ some of these tree species and practice your ID skills, hear stories connecting people to place, and explore activities to engage your students in outdoor, place-based learning.

Notes: Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given for education courses. For cancellations with one week's notice, a credit will be applied to your account. With less than a week's notice, no credit will be given. No new credit will be issued if the cancelled course was purchased using prior credit. Program cancellation by the VBGA due to Public Health Restrictions will result in education program credit equivalent to the value lost. Credits must be used within one year from the date issued. Please notify us of your cancellation in writing to learn@vandusen.org
