Windsor Junction Community Centre
Day camp, swimming lessons, Junior Leaders, Junior Guards, and Bronze level lifesaving.
At the WJCC we believe that being the centre of the community means bringing families together for fun and recreation. Established in 1947 by the Windsor Junction Athletics Association through the donation of land from local families, the WJCC has grown to include two ballfields, a waterfront with lifeguards, daycamp, a swim team, a newly expanded clubhouse and programs for those who live in Lakeview, Windsor Junction and Fall River. The Windsor Junction Community Centre has partnerships with the LWF Ratepayers Association and LWF Baseball. Summer Day Camp provides an excellent opportunity for children to make new friends, learn about teamwork and have an active healthy, outdoor summer experience. Campers are typically placed in teams by age, with camp counsellors rotating through the various teams. Mornings are typically spent playing games, participating in organized activities, making crafts and attending swimming lessons (if signed up), while afternoons are spent swimming and playing by the beach. WJCC offers Red Cross Preschool Program (Starfish to Whale) and Red Cross Swim Kids Program (Level 1 - 10). There are a total of four swim sessions over the summer. The Junior Leaders program for 2019 will provide an opportunity for motivated youth between 12.5 and 15 to contribute to their community and learn leadership skills.
