Responsable : Maddi Andrews (contact@ksoa.info)

Lieu : Front Studio | 647 Princess Street, Unit 101, Kingston, ON, K7L 1E5

Description :

In this workshop, students will explore the idea of collaborating with nature in their artworks. Although the creation of forms is typically reserved for the artist, by painting with materials found outside, students will interact with nature as it imprints itself on their work. Nature is often unpredictable, and by encouraging fluidity students are able to relax and reap the benefits of the process of making art rather than focusing on art as a goal to be achieved. Students will create one to two postcard-sized paintings with the possibility of sending them to a loved one as a means of sharing a piece of their lived environment. From the integration of their surrounding environment in their artwork, students will gain  an understanding of the symbiotic relationship between humans and nature, and the value of making/the process of creating art rather than focusing on the result.
