Monterey Recreation offers indoor and outdoor programs including; gymnastics, dance, arts, crafts, music & drama, senior services, summer camps including Whispering Pines Day Camp and Camp Quien Sabe Youth Overnight Camp, field sports camps, youth and adult sports leagues, exercise classes, preschool, after school and school break camps and special events. The Monterey Sports Center offers a full range of aquatics programs including; swim lessons, therapeutic, recreational and lap swim, lifeguard training, group exercise, fitness orientations, personal training, youth sports camps, youth and adult sports leagues, wrestling, martial arts and special events. Rental facilities include rooms for meetings and private parties at the El Estero, Hilltop and Scholze Park Centers. The Monterey Sports Center offers gym and pool rentals for parties and corporate events. Park and beach areas are available for group picnics and special events. Monterey parks and beaches include the Monterey Recreation Trail, Veteran’s Memorial Park Campground, Dennis the Menace Playground and offer amenities such as ballparks, specialty sport courts and fields, large and small parks with playgrounds, a dog and skate park, fishing piers and walking paths.
