Description

Explorations was founded in 1981 by a group of McGill Professors. Founding goals include “giftedness” research, the development of a “model” program while supporting teacher education at a camp which engages children in a rich learning environment; where learning and fun are synonymous. Activities are led by certified teachers specializing in the fields of mathematics, fine arts, science, music, physical education and environmental studies, technology and media. They are joined by experts in diverse areas such as computer tech, magic, stand-up comedy and improvisation. Children are grouped by age and interest. Visiting guest experts and frequent field trips further enrich this unique experience. Our Panorama Programs in Science, Business and Arts & Culture connect with experts at universities, private labs and local businesses. The Administrative Team is led by Dane Oberon, Louise Standjofski, and Karen Poulsen.
