Description :
Latifa Pelletier-Ahmed joins the VBGA to teach about deciduous tree identification. Participants will learn about native and commonly cultivated species found in VanDusen Botanical Garden and around the Lower Mainland. Learn key characteristics of the most common deciduous tree families and recognize them in urban and wild environments. A Garden map will be provided to guide you to find highlighted plants in VanDusen Botanical Garden at your leisure (admission is sold separately). Instructor’s Bio Latifa Pelletier-Ahmed MSc is a botanist and co-owner of ALCLA Native Plants, a native plants nursery based in Mohkinstsis or Calgary, AB. She is qualified with a BSc in Botany from Calgary, AB and an MSc in Herbal Medicine from Middlesex University, London, UK. She is a former faculty member at Pacific Rim College in Victoria BC, where she taught Botany and Horticulture. This course will take place online, and recordings will be available for a limited time to participants. Pre-registration is required.

Notes : Please note that registration for our webinars will close an hour before the event. Online course log-in details will be sent 24 hours before the course date. Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given for education courses. A credit will be applied to your account for cancellations with one week's notice. With less than a week's notice, no credit will be given. No new credit will be issued if the cancelled course was purchased using prior credit. Program cancellation by the VBGA due to Public Health Restrictions will result in education program credit equivalent to the value lost. Credits must be used within one year from the date issued.
