Long-time VanDusen birding guide Jeremy Gordon is back on-site with this seasonal favourite! During this introductory level class, he will discuss the best birding resources, such as binoculars and field guides, share tips on identifying local & migratory birds, and highlight hot birding spots around Vancouver. Following a one-hour classroom presentation, Jeremy will take you for a walk to look for some of the 106 species of birds in the Garden. The class is designed for aspiring and beginner bird watchers to help build a foundation of knowledge and gain confidence to get out and go birding this spring. Instructor's Bio Jeremy Gordon arrived in Vancouver over 30 years ago, after a series of events that included riding on top of a bus in Mexico, a bankrupt airline and a car engine blowing up. That summer, he accidentally got a job as a waiter in the then-Sprinklers restaurant and got to know the Gardens well. Having been recently introduced to birding (following a soccer injury), he combined these two passions and has led bird walks here ever since. Online pre-registration required. Image: Tina Chin.

Notes : Please note that registration will close at 4:00 p.m. PT, one business day before the event. Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given for education courses. A credit will be applied to your account for cancellations with one week's notice. With less than a week's notice, no credit will be given. No new credit will be issued if the cancelled course was purchased using prior credit. Program cancellation by the VBGA due to Public Health Restrictions will result in education program credit equivalent to the value lost. Credits must be used within one year from the date issued.
