Description:

This weekend workshop focuses on throwing larger vessels on the pottery wheel.

Day one teaches methods of wedging and centering 8 to 15 lbs of clay. Practice throwing multiple tall cylinders that can be shaped into jugs, vases, bowls, etc.

Day two participants will learn how to join two or more thrown pieces together. The instructor is a prolific potter, and previous Artist in Residence at Casa, with over 5 years’ experience in clay wheel.

Materials provided. The instructor will have recycled clay for participants. If there is a specific clay body you would like to throw with, please bring 40 - 60 lbs. Firing and glazing fees will be the responsibility of the participant, and can be coordinated with Casa.

Prerequisites: Students should have Clay Wheel 1 / Introduction to Clay Wheel, or equivalent studio experience, to take this workshop.
