Description:

Senior Stability Training

With a focus on balance, this class is a modified version of the Strength and Balance class; the small group class includes a mix of seated exercises and supported (hand on a wall or chair) movements. We incorporate body weight, resistance bands, and dumbbells. We move in all planes to build strength, balance and proprioception (the sense of where your body is in space). All exercises can be personalized to accommodate your level. Connect with others, and improve your quality of life through movement!

Enjoy small group personal training that helps prevent and reverse physical declines associated with aging. Each session meets twice a week for a month, excluding holidays. This program focuses on muscle, cardio and bone health, plus incorporates cognitive sharpness, and proprioception (body awareness). Beyond the small-group instruction, each participant will get a customized plan and several instructor check-ins by phone and email, to review goals and progress. While designed for most fitness levels, participants must be able to get up off the floor unassisted. Instructor will provide equipment. Add life to your years and years to your life! Pre-registration required: ashland.or.us/register or 541.488.5342.

INSTRUCTOR: Beth Morris has worked as a coach since 2017, with certifications in Functional Aging, Tai Chi, Balance and Nutrition.
