Description:

This course is for new and experienced sailors who are learning to sail the 420.  Moving up from Opti, trying sailing for the first time, or sailed a 420 one season?  This is the class for you!  The 420 is a dynamic two-person boat, engaging in collaborative sailing experiences as both Skipper and Crew. This cooperative approach enhances individual skill development in points of sail, sail trim, body positioning, and tiller extension use, while underscoring the importance of teamwork and communication on the water. Sailors in 420 Beginner are expected to gain fundamental skills such as docking, knot tying, rigging, and navigating a triangular course as both Skipper and Crew. This course should be repeated until participants are recommended for 420 Experienced Traps and Spins.
