Description:

Where architecture meets virtual reality! 

Our exciting 1 week camp takes youth in grades 8 - 12 on a journey to FIRST learn about some of the city related problems in Vancouver and THEN channel their learning into hacking and building their own world using the Unity Engine. 

Unity is a 2D, 3D, VR, and AR development platform. Participants will explore Vancouver, expand their imagination, creativity, critical thinking skills, experiment with emergent virtual, mixed, and extended reality technologies, and engage in creating solutions that will make for a better world for all. 

Is virtual reality a vessel to solve real world problems ?? In OUR program, youth will have the chance to make their wildest dreams come true.

The main goal with our program is to nurture participants' passion and interest in architecture, cities and buildings, and help them build their skills by learning to use virtual and mixed reality technologies.

This lab will be facilitated by Meehae Song:

Meehae Song explores the intersections between the human body and the technology space using biofeedback technology. She has over 20 years of XR media design and delivery, teaching and mentoring experience for diverse audiences. Her current PhD research is in the fields of AI portraits, aesthetic emotion space and XR applications. She teaches at Simon Fraser University, University of British Columbia, Circuit Stream and EthosLab/Centre for Digital Media. As a Unity Certified Instructor/Unity Professional Artist, she runs workshops for corporate clients through Unity. At Ethos Lab, she runs our Virtual Reality Labs  in collaboration with the Centre for Digital Media. She has been working with Unity for 10 years now and loves designing course content and teaching Ethos Lab youth Unity!
