Description:

Intermediate Cruising exploring The Thousand Islands

Embark on an unforgettable nautical adventure with our 6-night Sail Canada Intermediate Cruising Course, set amidst the breathtaking beauty of the Thousand Islands in Lake Ontario. Throughout this training experience, participants will hone their sailing skills to meet the goal of completing the afloat skills required for the Sail Canada Intermediate Cruising Standard.

As you navigate the pristine waters of the Thousand Islands, each day brings new challenges and opportunities for skill development. From mastering sail trim techniques to refining anchoring maneuvers, participants will receive comprehensive instruction aimed at enhancing both confidence and proficiency on the water. This course emphasizes on-the-water skills at a level acceptable for bare boat chartering for extended cruises in coastal waters.

The Thousand Islands, with its myriad of scenic coves, picturesque islands, and ever-changing winds, serves as the perfect backdrop for this hands-on learning experience. Students round out their live-aboard experience by planning and preparing on-board meals and enjoying evenings anchored in tranquil harbours unwinding with fellow sailors.

This course is the Intermediate Afloat Course. Students who have not completed their intermediate theory should contact education@hbsailing.com for theory options. Intermediate theory should be completed before the afloat course. (online and in-person options available)
