Description:

STEPS Public Art – Transforming our Neighbourhoods and Community
Co-presented by MNjcc Adult Daytime Culture and Education and The Wagner-Green Centre for Access & Inclusion

STEPS Public Art transforms our urban spaces and fosters inclusive communities through their vibrant, engaging and accessible public art projects. Learn about the importance of public art, how it supports local artists and transforms neighbourhoods through murals, installations, and community activities. This presentation will include a focus on the Accessible Art and Placemaking project. This initiative explores how public art can increase the accessibility of public spaces and includes a pilot project developed in partnership with the Bloor Annex BIA, artists Alex Bulmer, Anna Camilleri, Tristan R Whiston, and ReDefine Arts. For those joining us in person, the presentation will be followed by an accessibility needs discussion over refreshments. This multi-access program - open and accessible to all - is presented as part of Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance, and Inclusion Month (JDAIM).

Funders: The Accessible Art and Placemaking Project is mainly funded through the City of Toronto’s Main Street Innovation Fund as part of the Government of Canada support through the Federal Economic Development Agency of Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).

ASL interpretation will be available. Should you require additional accessibility accommodations to attend this program, please email Effie Biliris effieb@mnjcc.org.
For registration assistance, please call 416-924-6211 x0 or email help@mnjcc.org
