Description :

In this talk, we will take a deep dive into the ways in which AI is being maliciously deployed on social media.

We'll uncover the deceptive world of social bots and explore how these can distort truth and manipulate opinion. Together, we'll examine how AI crafts eerily realistic profiles, is able to manage vast bot networks, and discuss the ongoing 'dance of detection' between these bots and platform algorithms.

Grasping the deep impacts, we'll discuss the reshaping of political landscapes, spread of falsehoods, market manipulations, and threats to mental well-being.

Finally, we'll contemplate the urgent need for ethical guidelines and legislation to manage AI's growing shadow over our digital interactions.  Terrifying and surprising, guaranteed to forever change the way you feel when you receive your next unsolicited friendship request, join us on this enlightening journey into the intricate interplay of AI and social media.
