Description :

Mobility is the engine of inclusivity. When a city’s transportation infrastructure works for everyone, it improves the liveability and prosperity of its citizens. Surrey is BC’s second largest city and is one of the fastest growing cities in Canada, expected to surpass Vancouver by 2041 with more than 760,000 residents.

Surrey is investing in smart technology, called Intelligent Transportation Systems, to improve the way they manage traffic in the City. These systems optimize and improve travel experiences for all road users while saving taxpayers money. The Traffic Management Centre is the hub where all these technologies come together and is the most advanced municipal centre of its kind in BC.

On this tour, Graeme Cross will explain the systems and technology that Surrey’s engineers and technologists use to make City roads safer and more efficient, contributing to a thriving, green, and inclusive city.
