Third Age Learning at Kwantlen - Kwantlen Polytechnic University Surrey BC V3W 2M8 CA

Date de début : mardi, 23 avril 2024.

Horaire :

 Le 23 avril 2024, de 13:00 à 14:50

 Surrey Campus

Lieu : Surrey Campus | 12666 72 Avenue, Surrey, BC, V3W 2M8

Description :

For centuries, court artists had painted the power of kings. Propaganda first became associated with politics during the downfall of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.

In this session, you will see images that celebrated them, the role of fashion and intrigue, and the art and cartoons that stirred up the people and sent the royal couple to the guillotine.

You will meet the artist who became the Minister of Propaganda and signed their death warrant. In a time of fake news and social media this is a timely topic.

Back by popular demand! Linda Quigley taught art history and studio art classes in Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia. She has given TALK many fascinating art history courses over the past several years.
