Terra Nova Rural Park and Natural Area is one of the best and most accessible places to see birds in Richmond. Its mixed habitat of woodlots, ponds and old fields provide habitat for more than 150 recorded species.

During peak spring bird migration, we will walk a 2-3 Km route, all on well-maintained trails. Bring binoculars if you have them. We will meet at the Natural Area parking lot on the south side of Westminster Hwy, west of the Terra Nova neighbourhood, at 2631 Westminster Highway. Public washrooms are nearby.

Hugh Griffith is a zoologist who has guided nature walks for most of his life and is a member of the birding group that monitors bird populations at Terra Nova for the Richmond Parks Department.
