Description :

This camp is for kids who are already very passionate about practicing circus arts and who have a certain level of skill and fitness.

It is an intensive circus training program for children who are practicing year-round at an intermediate or advanced level in at least 1 circus or acrobatic discipline and who have a solid level of strength and endurance and meet the prerequisites in at least 1 of the disciplines. If your child is new to circus arts practice or is not yet at an intermediate level please join us for one of the other weeks this summer marked ‘all-level’ in which no prerequisites or experience is required. Note that advanced students are also welcome in the all-level weeks.

Groups are divided by age and experience as much as possible. 

Children can 1 of the 2 intermediate-advanced weeks but are encouraged to do both.
Sign up for each of the 2 intermediate/advanced weeks separately.
Full weeks only, no single days or partial days available.

As always, the camp is run by professional circus artists and dynamic coaches and brings an opportunity for kids and youths to learn skills and techniques firsthand from experts in each of the circus disciplines. Over the week they will have the opportunity to learn a variety of different circus activities, choose their favorites to specialize in, and then participate in creating a group performance for the last day.

Children will have the opportunity to both deepen their intermediate or advanced practice in their favourite discipline and also practice some of the other disciplines we do. These include juggling, flower-sticks, poi, diabolo, hula-hoop, acrobatics, hand-to-hand balancing, aerial silks, static trapeze and tumbling.

Prérequis : 1 of the following: -Completed Silks Level 1 including performing all the basics Silks poses and knot drops, climb to the top of the silks and descent safely, invert in the air, performing 1 full pull up with good form, tie a foot lock, dead-hang 10 seconds, tie your own knot. -Completed Trapeze Level 1 or Lyra Level 1 including all the basics poses, perform 1 full pull up, single knee hang, pull over, invert in the air, dead-hang 10 seconds, one arm hang. -Floor gymnastics equivalent to Level 3 Gymnastics Ontario including Handstand to bridge, back kick-over, Handstand – hold 1 sec., forward roll step-out, Backward roll to push-up, Forward split, cartwheel, Round off, front handspring. -Other complementary athletic training such as competitive dance or intensive sports training may be eligible for invitation to the intermediate-level circus camps.
