Description:
Portraits in the Wild is an exciting opportunity to extend and grow your portrait and landscape painting skills. On days 1 & 2 we work outdoors with a model to set various photo opportunities under natural lighting and do reference drawings of the model and the location, including value and colour studies. A good phone or camera and a simple photo editing program on your home computer are requirements for this activity. On Day 3-5 students work in the studio to develop their painting using the materials gathered from day 1 & 2 as reference. Students electing to use oil or acrylic should expect to complete 1 finished work. Water colourists might complete 3 finished studies in the same time period. Some knowledge of working en plein air or from live models is a good starting point. Material list to follow.
