Description:

Go from zero to crochet hero with this "Comprehensive Crochet" Course for complete beginners to learn to crochet. Learn how to hold the hook, how to chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, slip stitch, and increasing and decreasing stitches. You will learn the basics of reading crochet patterns starting with reading one that Facilitator Lisa Leskien created. Projects that you will create will be: a washcloth, a granny square bag, crochet in the round for an adorable bear hat, and our final project will be the student's choice where Lisa will guide you through your choice of crochet creation. Come join us for a fun class of crochet creations!

Notes: General Materials: 5 mm Crochet Hook Yarn/Tapestry Needle Scissors Materials for Projects: For making a toast wash cloth - 1 small ball (50g or 77 yards) of worsted-weight (size 4) cotton yarn - cream,off white or jute colour and 1 small ball (50g or 77 yards) of worsted-weight (size 4) cotton yarn - dark brown (for crust). Brand I like is Loops and Threads Creme cotton (available at Michaels) For the Granny Square bag - 2 balls (150g or 324 yards) of worsted - weight (size 4) cotton or acrylic yarn. Brand I used for the sample Loops and Threads creme cotton. For the bear hat - depending on the size child vs adult - 1- 2 balls (100g or 246 yards) worsted weight (size 4) of acrylic yarn - your choice of bear colour - black with dark brown inner-ears looks really cute, but so does a nice oatmeal or light brown colour. For the independent project - student's choice.
