Single panel comics aim to tell a story so efficiently and cleverly that the reader is surprised into spontaneous laughter from seeing a subject from a new perspective.

These workshops offer foundational instruction on the core principles and techniques of cartooning (figure drawing, caricature, lighting, props, composition, and analysis of notable works), approaches to joke-writing and idea generation, and tips for finding one's audience.

Pencils, erasers, and paper will be provided. Students may bring supplementary pens, brushes, inks, watercolours, pencil crayons, or their digital drawing tablets.
