The Autism Intervention Program (AIP) is excited to run our new Parent Education Series, aimed at providing a wide range of information about a number of topics relevant to the autistic community. This series includes four 2-hour presentations from some of our ASD Consultants and Mental Health and Wellness Team (MHWT).
Presentation topics include:
1) Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
2) Behavioral Strategies
3) Emotional Regulation and Co-regulation
4) Autism and Mental Health
Sessions will be held virtually (via Zoom) over four weeks, with one session per week. It is strongly encouraged that you attend all sessions in the series. All presentations will be live and there will not be an option to view any video recordings of the sessions. You are strongly encouraged to follow up with your assigned ASD Consultant and/or Mental Health and Wellness Team member to discuss any questions regarding the material and how it may specifically pertain to your child/youth.
*Please note that you must have completed an Agency Intake and have a current Agency Membership in order to register for this Series.
*Please register under your child's/youth's name as this program is age restricted (0-19 years).
*Participants in the program will be limited to 40.
*We have allowed 2 hours for sessions, however sessions may end earlier.
*Following the last presentation in the Series, participants will receive a link to complete a feedback survey online. Your feedback is greatly valued in AIP and we use it to create and revise our programming in order to make it meaningful and relevant to those in the autistic community.
*The Parent Education Series will be offered multiple times throughout the year.
*Please note that this series has replaced the Parent Management Training program previously offered by AIP.
