Jr Team Contemporary

Start date: Monday, September 11 2023.

Schedule:

 On Monday from 6:30 PM to 7:15 PM.

 From 9/11/2023 until 6/17/2024

Location: Studio C | 86 Dawson Road, Guelph, ON, N1H 1A8

Description:

Contemporary dance includes a wide variety of dance forms and techniques; primarily ballet, modern, and jazz. A lot of contemporary movement is about speed, control, strength, change of direction and inversion.

In addition to having strong technical skills, contemporary dancers are required to have an open and creative mind, as a lot of contemporary dance is developed through improvisation. 

Included:

  • In-Studio Demonstration for family and friends in December
  • Professional Team Photo Shoot and Headshots in Fall 2023
  • Beautiful costume to keep
  • Participate in at least one community event during the season
  • Attend one dance competition in the Spring 2024
  • Professional Dance Photo Day in Spring 2024
  • Perform in our Year-End Recital at the River Run Centre in June
  • Automatic invitation to dance in the Opening Number at the Year-End Recital

Dress Code

  • Any plain black dancewear 
  • Bare feet
  • Long hair must be neatly tied up in a pony tail or bun

Mandatory membership(s):

  • Dancer Membership - September 2023-June 2024

Price: $136.00 Taxes not included

Notes: The Performance Team classes have additional fees outside of the tuition and costume that will be invoiced throughout the year. If you did not receive the Performance Team package that outlines the fees for the season, please connect with us so you understand the requirements.

Prerequisites: Must have at least two years of dance experience, and be committed to attending all classes and rehearsals.
